Funeral services for Pat Copeland, age 58, of Brownwood, the owner and operator
of the Sonshine Tea Room on Center Avenue in downtown Brownwood for the past
four years, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2001, in the Davis-Morris Funeral Home.

BROWNWOOD, Texas -- Funeral services for Pat Copeland, 58, of
Brownwood, Texas, the owner/operator of the Sonshine Tea Room on Center
Avenue in downtown Brownwood for the past four years, were held at 10 a.m.
Wednesday, Jan. 3, in the Davis-Morris Funeral Home. Interment followed
in the Lost Creek Cemetery near May, Texas, in Brown County, Texas, with
Bo Shero officiating.
Pat died Saturday as the result of a traffic accident near San Saba, Texas.
She was born Nov. 20, 1942, in Stephenville, Texas, to Woodrow Wilson and
Katherine R. Scott Tabor. She had been a resident of Brownwood since 1982.
In addition to her love for cooking and operating the Sonshine Tea Room,
she was an avid caver for the last 22 years. She loved to give tours of
caves and did so with each opportunity she had. She was also a member of
the Downtown Business Association.
She married James Copeland in Dexter (Chaves Co., NM) , in 1972.
She is survived by her husband, James Copeland of Brownwood; two sons,
Cliff and his wife, Carolyn, of Wolf City, Texas, and Shawn Copeland of
Austin, Texas.
She is also survived by her four daughters, Lisa and her husband, Dean
Callihan of Brownwood, Stacy and her husband, Rick Eledge, of Flower Mound,
Texas, Debbie and her husband, Mike McConnell, of Fort Worth, Texas, and
Lea Ann Copeland of Greenville, Texas.
Pat was known affectionately as Granny by her 13 grandchildren. She is
also survived by her mother, Kathy and her husband, Jeff Burcham of Brownwood;
mother-in-law, Leroy Copeland of Greenville; a brother, Woodrow Tabor of
San Antonio, Texas; her sister, Nancy Kay Bryant of Austin; and six nieces
and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Woodrow W. Tabor.
Because of her love for caving, the family requests memorials be made to
the Friends of Colorado Bend State Park, Route 2, Box 116, San Saba, TX
76877.
Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Morris Funeral
Home of Brownwood.
