Comments: The North East Texas Cavers is a chapter of the National Speleological Society. North East Texas Cavers and netcavers.org are just a group of friends and family that enjoy caving. Some of us met in college, others met through work, but we all share one passion, the joy of exploring and oogling underground things. Netcavers is a play on words, while it stands for our formal name, North East Texas Cavers, it also stands for interNETCavers. All of the founding members are in the IT industry, so computers are a way of life for us (and others are obsessed by them). We're not sure if we are the first internet based grotto, but we plan to have all meetings online, using modern technology to bring us together digitally in the hopes that this will take spelunking into the future.
